"Divinity in
Light and Shadow"
Life is our fundamental gift, ultimately a gift we must pass on for new life, and too often we forget that.
Every day, incomprehensible amounts of electromagnetic waves are emitted out of a gaseous metallic sphere that we are hurtling through space and time with, and these emissions come into our own sphere as light and heat, which provide the essential energy for life on this planet.
Ancient civilizations idolized the sun. Churches are built to let light flood in. Through stained-glass murals, light penetrates the sacred space and explodes into beautiful color, shape, and vibrancy. Christians believed that this light is God entering the space.

The Sagrada Familia is this apex of this experience. The color, light, and space, the chapel creates an uncanny feeling of God. Coming into it as an atheist, I felt something incredibly real as I spent time in this chapel. That God is not a person or an entity, but a feeling of connection, to this world, this life, and to those around me. We were all basked in this light. Many eastern theologies make space for a network of consciousness. That we are all one divine, and that each node on the network gets manifested as our human selves. We are all God. This is God.
This series attempts to play with the fundamental divinity of light, the life it inherently brings to spaces, and works to reclaim its understanding in everyday life. Take a moment, feel your presence. Feel surrounded by the light that flows around you. And you can find divinity in that, find grace.
